Council of Ministers condemns strategy of obstruction and procrastination by Moroccan Kingdom

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 10, 2015 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers on Tuesday condemned the strategy of obstruction and procrastination pursued by Moroccan Kingdom, underlying that it cannot, in any way, put conditions on UN work in Western Sahara.


In a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, the Council sated that the legal, historical and human right framework of the Western Sahara conflict remains clearly specified in the Charter and resolutions of the United Nations (UN).


The communiqué, on other hand, hailed the firm position taken by the African Union (AU) in calling for the cancellation of Crans Montana Forum, asking the AU to redouble efforts to end the last vestiges of colonialism in Africa.


It, in the same respect, welcomed the work already done by the AU Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Joaquim Chissano, former president of Mozambique. (SPS)
