Geneva, Feb 22, 2015 (SPS) - At the invitation of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), the Coordinator of the Saharawi Mine Action Coordination Office, Mr. Samu Ammu Dih, took part at the 18th International Meeting of Mine Action National Programme Directors and UN Advisors, convened from 16th to Friday 19th February 2015 in Geneva.
The meeting was jointly organized by the United Nations Inter-Agency Coordination Group on Mine Action (IACG-MA) and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).
It was an opportunity for the Saharawi official to inform his interlocutors about the many mines planted throughout Western Sahara and the negative impacts of the Moroccan-built military wall on the lives of Saharawi civilians. (SPS)
