NLC reiterates its support for struggle of Saharawi people for freedom and independence

 Abuja, April 11, 2015 (SPS) - The new president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, reiterated the support of his organization to the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, during  an meeting with the SADR Ambassador to Nigeria, Ubbi Bouchraya.

 

 Mr. Ayuba Wabba said the NLC will continue its support to the Saharawi people and his labor movement until the national independence, as an inevitable historical reality, recalling that his trade union organization was among the first to defend the just liberation issues in Africa.

 

 "The last congress of the Nigerian trade union movement asked the new leadership to Strengthen Support for the Sahrawi People and workers in Nigeria, Africa and the international forums," Said the president of the NLC.

 

  For his part, the Saharawi Ambassador conveyed to the Nigerian union leader a congratulatory and thanks letter from the Secretary General of the Saharawi Workers, Mohamed Cheikh Mohamed Lehbib, following his election as the head of the Nigerian Labour Congress.

 

The Nigerian Labour Congress is the largest trade union in Africa organized, in cooperation with its civil society partners in Nigeria, the African Conference of Solidarity with the Saharawi people in Abuja in October 2013. (SPS)
