Beirut, April 22, 2015 (SPS) - The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) on Tuesday adopted a resolution of support to the Saharawi cause, in its meeting held in Beirut, capital of Lebanon.
The resolution asked the United Nations (UN) to find a solution to the Saharawi cause by allowing the Saharawi people to enjoy their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.
It also demanded the respect of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, calling for the enlargement of the UN Mission for the Referendum (MINURSO) to include human rights monitoring.
WFDY urged Moroccan occupying authorities to “immediately and unconditionally” free all the Saharawi political prisoners, calling for halt to the illegal exploitation and looting of the Western Sahara natural resources by foreign companies. (SPS)
