FiSahara 12 predominantly focuses on Universal Justice, says Executive Director

Dajla (refugee camps), April 29, 2015 (SPS) - The universal justice, victims of disappearances, and other crimes against humanity are issues to dominate the activities of this year’s edition of the International Film Festival in Western Sahara (FiSara), on Wednesday said Ms. María Carrión, FiSahara Executive Director.


“We focus this year on the issue of universal justice,” said Ms. Carrion, in statement to SPS hours before the opening of FiSahara 2015, highlighting that they have already issued a statement calling on the United Nations, the international community and world civil society to act in favor of final and just solution to the conflict of Western Sahara conflict, on for nearly 40.


Ms. Carrión revealed that “many personalities, of which Javier Bardem, Viggo Mortensen and Nora Morales Cortiña, among many others, signed a letter calling for the resolution of the Western Sahara conflict, to immediately grant MINURSO the powers to monitor human rights and to begin a process of truth and justice in Western Sahara, by unveiling the whereabouts of missing persons and the reality behind mass graves.
