Shaheed Elhafed, May 10, 2015 (SPS)  - The drug seizures in the region countries have reached alarming proportions in recent months, according to press sources of the countries affected by the cannabis trafficking.

"The plague is gaining ground and taking dangerous proportions," said the press highlighting that "inquisitors investigations were often revealing and the discoveries confirm the transformations in the matter" in reference to changes in the methods used by traffickers to route their poison.

Indeed, the "totality" of the quantities of seized cannabis resin, comes from the neighboring country, Morocco, appointed country by the European Observatory Centre for Addiction and drugs in a report published on the occasion of the World Day of fight against drugs and illicit trafficking on 26 June 2014. According to the report, Morocco has maintained its position as the first exporter of cannabis resin (hashish) to European countries. The Maghreb countries are used for the transit of the illegal substance.

In June 2014, the Saharawi Ministry of Defence has exposed a significant amount of cannabis estimated at 975 kg seized by the Saharawi liberation army in 2012 and 2013 and the first half of 2014 through stations installed throughout the Moroccan military wall that divides Western Sahara.
