CNASPS vigorously denounces Moroccan "savage" repression

Submitted on

Algiers(Algeria). October, 15 2015 (SPS) - The Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi people (CNASPS) "vigorously" denounced the “savage and multiform” repression committed by the Moroccan occupying forces against the Sahrawi population in the occupied territories, said Thursday a statement from CNASPS.

A delegation of CNASPS submitted a petition at United Nations Headquarters in New York, to the members of the UN 4th Committee (Decolonization Committee) about the Western Sahara conflict, said the same source.

On this occasion, President of CNASPS Said Ayachi detailed all forms of the "massive and repeated violations" of human rights perpetrated by Morocco, "now widely recognized violations," added the same source.

Ayachi also called on the international community to stop the "criminal looting" of the Sahrawi natural resources.

He urged the United Nations to implement, "without delay" the "relevant" resolutions of the AG and the UN Security Council, recognizing the Sahrawi people's "inalienable" right to self-determination, to end the "sufferings inflicted by the Moroccan occupier."

Last colony in Africa, Western Sahara was occupied and then annexed by Morocco in 1975 after the departure of the Spanish troops. It is included by the UN among the non-autonomous territories. (SPS)
