Shaheed El Hafed, 8 Nov 2015 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario, Mohamed Abdelaziz, indicated Saturday in an interview with the Spanish newspaper “La vanguardia” that the Polisario Front does not rule out the resumption of the war suspended in 1991.

Related to the current situation of the peace process, he pointed out the UN undertook in 1991 to organize the referendum, after 24 years Morocco still refuses to implement the peace plan it signed with the Polisario front, maintains repression in the territory and plunders Saharawi natural resources, and the international community does not assume its responsibilities at a time when patience runs out of the Saharawi people and the younger population is looking forward to war.

For the President of the Republic a return to war is one of the options to be discussed at the next congress of the Polisario Front.

Regarding the legal responsibility of Spain, former administering power of the territory, he stressed "if Spain defends and supports the 1991 peace plan and the holding of the referendum on self-determination, it will have fulfilled from its historic responsibilities on Western Sahara"

Abdelaziz said that the Saharawi people continuous with determination and confidence their struggle for victory and stressed that "Morocco is mistaken if he believes that time is on their behalf."  (SPS)
