Awserd (refugee camps), January 29, 2016 (SPS) The masses and the authorities of the wilaya of Awserd organized Thursday a popular demonstrations in solidarity with the Saharawi people and the Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and south of Morocco.
During his speech, Wali of Awserd Meriem Salek Hmada confirmed the solidarity of the authorities and the citizens of the wilaya with the Saharawi citizens in the Saharawi occupied territories, denouncing the aggression committed by the Moroccan forces of occupation against Sahrawi civilians.
Mariam Salek Hmada greeted the struggle of the masses in the occupied territories for 40 years, calling on the international community to exert pressure on Morocco and stop the repressive practices against the Saharawis and to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to freedom and self-determination.
During a meeting organized in the wilaya, speakers called for support of the Saharawi population in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and south of Morocco and strengthen the resistance and national unity of the Saharawi people against the Moroccan enemy conspiracies.
Several sit-ins and popular meeting were also organized in the different wilayas and institutions of the SADR, to support the peaceful resistance led by Sahrawis in the occupied territories and southern Morocco and the release of all Saharawi political prisoners still languishing in Moroccan prisons including the group of Gdeim Izik in the prison of Salé (Morocco).
