Algiers, 6 March 2016 (SPS) - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday started visit to Algiers, as part of his tour to the region in a bid to relaunch the negotiations for the settlement of Western Sahara conflict, opposing Morocco and Polisario Front.
Upon arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport of Algiers, the UN chief was greeted by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.
During his visit to Algeria, Ban Ki-moon will hold talks with Lamamra, as well as the senior officials of the State.
On Saturday, Ban Ki-moon visited the Sahrawi refugee camps where he held talks with Sahrawi officials, notably President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Mohamed Abdelaziz, also Polisario Front general secretary. (SPS)
