Chahid El-Hafed (Sahrawi Republic) 23 September 2024 (SPS) – The civil and military authorities of the Algerian Province of Tindouf, led by its Governor, Mr. Dahou Mustafa, arrived in Dakhla refugee camps this Monday evening, accompanied by teams from the Algerian Civil Protection and Army to assist the refugees affected by the heavy rainfall. Their mission includes draining water from public spaces and homes and reopening roads.

Upon their arrival in Dakhla, they were received by the member of the Sahrawi Emergency Committee, Minister of Interior, Brahim Bela, and the Governor of the Wilaya of Dakhla, Abda Sheikh. They all inspected the damages and assessed the mechanisms to be followed in addressing them and providing services to the affected citizens.

The Sahrawi Red Crescent had previously called on international organizations to intervene and contribute to aiding the residents of Dakhla refugee camps, who were affected by the heavy rainfall that hit the region on Sunday and Monday. (SPS)
