The President of the Republic holds the Moroccan state fully responsible for its heinous crimes against the Sahrawi people and calls on the UN to implement its commitments to decolonization

Awserd (refugee camps), November 7, 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, held the Moroccan state fully responsible for its heinous crimes against the Sahrawi people, calling on the United Nations to implement its commitments to eradicate colonialism in Western Sahara.

President Brahim Ghali, pointed out in his speech during his supervision of the conclusion of the National Health Symposium that the United Nations is responsible and required to implement its commitment, charter and decisions to decolonize Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, and to empower its people with their right to independence, like all peoples and colonial countries.

The Moroccan occupation state, added Mr. President, bears the consequences of its barbaric military invasion of Western Sahara, the consequences and repercussions of its blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement on November 13, 2020, and also bears responsibility for the heinous crimes it committed against the Sahrawi people, including hundreds of cases of kidnapping and forced disappearance, arbitrary detention, unfair trials and sentences, as in the case of the Gdeim Izik group.

President Brahim Ghali condemned the stifling siege imposed by the Moroccan occupation authorities on the occupied Sahrawi territories, their extensive plundering of their natural resources, their seizure of lands and property, in particular the brutal suppression of peaceful demonstrations, and the miserable situation of Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons.
