The Japanese Kyoto University hosts a seminar on the Sahrawi issue

Tokyo (Japan), November 7, 2023 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Students Union organized a lecture on the Sahrawi issue at the Faculty of Arabic Literature at Kyoto University in Japan, in the presence of a large group of professors, students and some local media.

The representative of the Sahrawi Students Union gave a detailed presentation on the history of the Sahrawi resistance and the stages it went through in the face of Spanish and Moroccan colonialism that sought to exterminate and exile the Sahrawi people. It also addressed the latest developments in the conflict in Western Sahara at various levels; it also touched on the miserable situation of human rights in the occupied territories and the ongoing plunder of natural resources by Morocco and European companies.

The member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Sahrawi Students Union Organization, Mrs. Fatma Brahim, answered many questions and inquiries submitted by the participants about the nature of the conflict in Western Sahara and the reasons that led to the failure of the United Nations and its relevant bodies to find a just and lasting solution for the Sahrawi people.

During the seminar, the Sahrawi documentary film “Life is Waiting” was screened. It highlights the Sahrawi resistance and the gains achieved by the Sahrawi people in their struggle under the leadership of the Polisario Front.

At the end of the seminar, the representative of the Sahrawi Students Union participated in a solidarity march organized by Japanese civil society in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in response to the aggressive acts and crimes of genocide they are being exposed to by the occupying Zionist entity.
