Heroic resistance of Sahrawi people forced Moroccan occupier to adopt policy of headlong rush

Smara (refugee camps), June 10, 2017 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali affirmed Thursday that the heroic resistance of the Saharawi people has forced the Moroccan occupier to adopt the policy of headlong rush by displaying intransigence, obstruction, escalation and threat of peace and stability in the region.  
"The heroic resistance of the Sahrawi people has forced the Moroccan occupier to adopt the policy of headlong rush by displaying intransigence, obstruction, escalation and threat of peace and stability in the region," indicated the President of the Republic. 
President Ghali, in a speech on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the "Shouhada Day" celebrated on 9 June, condemning the Kingdom of Morocco's attempts to flood the region with narcotics and thus encouraging criminal groups and terrorists, thus posing a real threat to our peoples and countries in the security, economic and social fields. "
He welcomed the appointment of the new UN Special Envoy for Western Sahara, former German President Horst Köhler, calling on the UN Secretary General to "accelerate the finalization of the process of decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa ".
He also called for MINURSO to be provided with all the necessary mechanisms to enable it to exercise its prerogatives far from any pressure and to carry out its mission of organizing a referendum on the self-determination of the Saharawi people and the protection And the monitoring of human rights.
Brahim Ghali added, "We recall the responsibility of the United Nations to stop the looting of Saharawi natural resources by the Moroccan military occupation forces and we urge the countries of the European Union (EU) and all countries of the world to respect scrupulously the relevant UN decisions, those of the African Union (AU) and the decision of the European Court of Justice (ECJ).
On 9 June of each year, the Sahrawi people celebrate the "day of Shouhada" (day of the martyrs) marking the commemoration of the death of the trigger of the Sahrawi revolution and its heroic leader, El-Wali Mustapha Sayed. (SPS)
