International Women Day: NUSW pays tribute to Saharawi woman role in liberation struggle

Chaheed El Hafed , March 08, 2018 (SPS) - The National Union of Saharawi Women (UNMS) praised the historic role played by Saharawi women in the struggle for liberation in a statement issued  Thursday on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, coincides with the anniversary of the first martyr of the Frente POLISARIO, Bashir Lehlawi.
The statement issued by the Union of Sahrawi Women highlighted the historical situation that characterizes the celebration of March 8 this year, where the national cause achieves more victories on the way towards the completion of sovereignty and liberation throughout the national territory such as the decision of the South African Supreme Court and the decision of the EU Court of Justice on 27 February ,which has refuted all Moroccan claims of sovereignty over Western Sahara.
The Sahrawi Women Union saluted the spirit of peaceful resistance that all our people, women, children, and old people are waging. We highly appreciate their steadfastness in the struggle to wrest our legitimate rights to freedom, independence and dignity in the land of Western Sahara.
 
The NUSW demanded an end to the Moroccan State serious violations of human rights in the occupied territories, stopping the plunder of the natural resources of Western Sahara, unconditional release of all Saharawi political prisoners and the dismantlement of the Moroccan military wall of shame. SPS
