Death of Mohamed Abdelaziz: Deceased made peace a major goal

Algiers, June 01,  2016 SPS)-   President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika said that the Sahrawi people have lost with the death of their president, Mohamed Abdelaziz, a courageous activist who “made peace a strategic principle and a major goal,” saying he is saddened that deceased died before his country has recovered freedom and independence.
“It is a great misfortune that has struck the brotherly Sahrawi people and all the men who love freedom and peace in the world by the death of combatant and activist Mohamed Abdelaziz, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic,” wrote Bouteflika in a message of condolences to the Speaker of the Sahrawi National Council Khatri Eddouh, following the death of Sahrawi President.
President Bouteflika was “even more saddened by the news of his death that the deceased passed away before seeing his goal achieved, a goal for which he devoted all his life, and before seeing the independence of his country, he who had great hopes, by working in this regard, to return to his country with his free and sovereign companions through the real enshrinement of the United Nations peace plan on the issue of Western Sahara.”
The head of State added “it is saddened that the Sahrawi people have lost one of their valiant and courageous combatants and one of the bravest founders of the Polisario Front, who , since the beginning of the revolution, took up the arms to free his country to become so soon the general military commander of the Front before being named, shortly after, its secretary general and chief of staff of the council of the revolution thanks to his competencies on the ground and his know-how in terms of management of political affairs.”SPS
