Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), November 18, 2018 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, has met with African heads of state and government on the sidelines of the 11th extraordinary summit of the African Union.
The President of the Republic met with his counterparts of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia. He also met with the heads of the delegations of Nigeria, Seychelles and Angola.
The talks focused on the latest developments of the Western Sahara issue on the African and international scene, as well as the bilateral relations between the Sahrawi Republic and these countries and the exchange of views on issues of common interest.
In this regard, the President of the Republic evoked the United Nations efforts to complete the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, recalling the decisions taken by the AU through the establishment of an African troika mechanism in its capacity as United Nations partner in the settlement of the conflict and the appeal of the UN Security Council to the parties to the conflict, the Sahrawi Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco to enter into direct negotiations in good faith and without preconditions for the solution of this long conflict.
