Awsard (Refugee Camps), March 3, 2019 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, accompanied by wali Awsard, Mariam Salek Hmada, received the delegation of French solidarity activists who were on a visit to Sahrawi refugee camps for participation in the celebrations commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic and the Sahara Marathon.
The President of the Republic stressed that the real interest of France is with the Sahrawi people and with the legitimate and democratic solution to the Western Sahara conflict, calling on Paris to engage positively and seriously in the current dynamic resulting from the recent UN Security Council Resolution 2440 and the negotiation path under the auspices of the UN Special Representative, former German President, Horst Kohler.
He expressed his appreciation for the visit of this large number of French solidarity activists who expressed the true position of the people of France in exchange for the negative attitude of the official France, and conveyed to the delegation a message of love, affection and gratitude towards the French people in all its classes and the readiness of the Sahrawi people and the Polisario Front to turn the past page in anticipation of a positive and productive future for the relationship between the two countries and peoples.
For their part, members of the French delegation expressed their determination to continue to support the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause, as well as their condemnation of the positions of their state in favor of the Moroccan colonial thesis. (SPS)
