Shaheed El-Hafed, Sept 11, 2017 (SPS) - Unknown parties were behind the detention at the Lima airport of the Sahrawi ambassador to Latin America, Khadijetou El Mokhtar, according to Sahrawi diplomatic sources.
According to the same sources, the Saharawi Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in direct contact with the Peruvian authorities on several levels to enable the ambassador for Latin America, Khadijetou El Mokhtar, to carry out her functions.
The Saharawi diplomat was to travel to Peru in a diplomatic mission, where she planned to hold a series of meetings with Peruvian officials.
Many Peruvian personalities, including lawyers, judges and journalists, have shown their support and solidarity with the Saharawi diplomat. (SPS)
