New York, 18 March 2017 (SPS) – President of Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, has reaffirmed the Sahrawi people’s adherence, under the leadership of its sole and legitimate representative the polisario Front, to its just struggle for self-determination and independence
He also reiterated the willingness of the Sahrawi party to cooperate constructively with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and his personal envoy, during a meeting Saturday in New York with UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.
President Ghali stressed the need for the United Nations to assume its responsibilities in enforcing the requirements of international legitimacy and the immediate cessation of all Moroccan violations of international law and international humanitarian law, by putting an end to Moroccan provocative escalation practices that threaten peace and stability in the region.
He insisted in this regard on the need to release all Saharawi political prisoners in the Moroccan prisons, and an end to the unfair trial of prisoners of Gdeim Izik. (SPS)
