Bir Lahlou (Sahrawi Republic), December 13, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, congratulated his Kenyan counterpart, President William Samuel Ruto, on the occasion of the 59th Independence Day of the sister Republic of Kenya, praising the level of friendship and brotherhood that unite the two countries.
President Brahim Ghali appreciated, in his congratulatory letter, the honorable and steadfast positions of the Republic of Kenya towards the just struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination and independence.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of the government and people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, I take this opportunity to extend my sincere congratulations to you and through you to the government and people of Kenya on this auspicious occasion, the fifty-ninth anniversary of Independence Day and the National Day of the Republic of Kenya” said Ghali in his letter.
The President of the Republic considered the Independence Day of the sisterly State of Kenya an immortal milestone in the history of the Kenyan nation, because it embodied the hopes, aspirations and determination of the founding fathers of the independent Kenyan nation, and what it represented to many of the Kenyan people, who sacrificed their lives on the path of Kenya's liberation struggle, and for the determination of its fate from colonialism and occupation.
We are confident, concluded the President of the Republic, that the long-standing friendship and good cooperation between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Kenya will be steadily enhanced. We appreciate Kenya's position as a loyal friend and main supporter of our struggle for self-determination and independence.
