Dublin (Ireland) - In a speech during a debate in the Irish Parliament, Prime Minister, Bushraya Hamoudi Bayoun, praised Ireland's firm position in support of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.
A Saharawi delegation headed by the Prime Minister is on a working visit to Ireland for several days within the framework of raising awareness of the developments of the Saharawi issue in the continent.
The delegation had a panel discussion at the Irish Parliament, moderated by MP Patrick Castello, on "Ireland and the decolonization of Western Sahara" at the invitation of Parliament.
In his speech the Irish Parliament, the Sahrawi Prime Minister, on behalf of the Sahrawi people, appreciated Ireland's firm position in support of the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. He also reviewed the experience of the Sahrawi state in building national institutions, and concept of a just solution to the conflict that guarantees security and stability in the region.
The Sahrawi official also talked about the latest developments of the Sahrawi cause, especially the return of war in Western Sahara due to the failure of the United Nations and its lack of seriousness in pushing for a solution, stressing in this regard the determination of the Sahrawi people to carry on its national struggle, as well as concern for the security and prosperity of all the peoples of the region.
The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister, includes Ubbi Bushraya Bashir, representative of Polisario Front in Europe and EU, Souilma Biruk, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Sidi Braika, representative of the Polisario in the UK, and Nafei Rais, representative of the Polisario Front in Ireland.
