Awsard (Refugee camps), 21 May 2023 (SPS) - The festivities of the 50th anniversary of the Polisario Front and the outbreak of the Sahrawi armed struggle continued, Sunday, with a civilian parade highlighting the achievements of different sectors carried out during half a century of struggle against the Spanish colonizer and then the Moroccan occupier.
Under the supervision of the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, and in the presence of guests and friends of the Sahrawi people, as well as a large audience, processions of men and women representing the sectors of education, health, agriculture, environment and public works unveiled, through banners and illustrated paintings, the main achievements made during these 50 years.
These achievements in various sectors are also a form of struggle against the occupier and a way to show that the Sahrawi people is resistant and continues its march towards independence and the reconquest of its territories despoiled by the Moroccan occupier increasingly cornered in recent years on all fronts.
"Today and tomorrow, together to liberate our homeland", "Unity, resistance until the reconquest of our territories", "We are by your side our military brothers on the front", are among other slogans visible on the placards carried by participants.
According to explanations given during the parade, the education of children and vocational training for young Sahrawis are a top priority for the authorities. "The initiation to the armed struggle and the defense of the Sahrawi cause are mainly done in these institutions," it was explained. As a reminder, exhibitions showing the genius of the Sahrawi woman are organized along the festivities.
The festivities organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of the Sahrawi struggle were worthy of the event.
The military parade has shown a readiness and high professionalism of the Sahrawi army to enable it to move forward on the path of liberation of his country.
