President of Republic arrives to Abuja to attend inauguration of Goodluck Jonathan

Abuja (Nigeria) May 29, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, arrived Saturday to Abuja to attend the inauguration of Mr. Goodluck Jonathan as a president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The President of the Republic was received at the airport by the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Aliu Idi Hong, and a number of Nigerian officials, in addition to members of inauguration committee.

The President Mohamed Abdelaziz attended Saturday a dinner hosted by the Nigerian president in honor of heads of states and governments attending the inauguration ceremony.

He congratulated, on behalf of the people and government of the Saharawi Republic,  his Nigerian counterpart, Goodluck Jonathan, on his reelection as president of Nigeria, considering it “an important step on the road to devote Nigeria as the largest democracy in Africa.”

The President of the Republic is accompanied by Minister of Defense, Mr. Mohamed Lamin Bouhali, Minister Delegate in charge of Africa, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beisat, Ambassador to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ahmed Yahia, Ambassador in Nigeria, Oubi Bachraia, in charge of mission to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ms. Sukeina Larabas, Counselor to the Presidency, Abdati Brika, and Secretary General of the Saharawi Woman Union, Ms. Fatma Al-Mehdi.
