Shaheed El Hafed (refugee camps) July 15, 2011 (SPS) - Polisario Front considered the Republic of South Sudan recognition of the Saharawi Republic as a "historic decision", in statement concluded meeting of the National Secretariat (SN) of the Polisario Front, held Thursday under the chairmanship of the Secretary General, the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
Republic of South Sudan recognition coincided with the official ceremony of the proclamation of its independence , which took place last Saturday in Juba, in the presence of a delegation led by the Head of State, Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
The two countries established diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level during a ceremony co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries in the young capital of southern Sudan, Juba.
SN expressed the hope that the success of the referendum on self-determination of the people of southern Sudan, "inspiring the United Nations and the Kingdom of Morocco to accelerate the referendum in Western Sahara.(SPS)
