El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), July 26, 2011 (SPS) - The Moroccan authorities of occupation prevented Monday dozens of unemployed Sahrawi from taking a peaceful sit-in outside the mandate headquarters in the occupied city of El Aaiun, according to a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
The unemployed Sahrawi had started a peaceful march from the mandate headquarters, where they were surrounded by the Moroccan police forces in civilian and official dresses, preventing them from continuing the march, provoking and attacking them.
During the march, the unemployed Sahrawi chanted slogans demanding their rights to employment and decent living and condemning false "promises" of employment which they received after suspending a sit-in that they had conducted outside the employment commission in the city.
It should be recalled that the unemployed Sahrawi in the occupied city of El Aaiun had organized a sit-in for more than a month to protest the tragic situation and marginalization suffered by the Moroccan authorities of occupation. (SPS)
