Moroccan violent attack against peaceful Sahrawi demonstrators in occupied El Aaiun

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), August 1, 2011 (SPS) - A dozen Sahrawi were injured Sunday evening during a violent intervention of the occupying forces to disperse a peaceful demonstration organized by Sahrawi citizens in the occupied city of El Aaiun demanding the release of a Sahrawi militant, according to a report released by Media Team.

The event was organized following the arrest and imprisonment of Sahrawi activist Bouhla Ghali, 22, in the "Black Jail" without being able to see his family or know the charges against him.

The occupation forces had kidnapped the Sahrawi activist in Tan-Tan avenuein the centre of El Aaiun, the occupied capital of Western Saharaby Morocco, after he attended a peaceful demonstration.

The same day, in Mezouar avenuein the city centre, dozens of Sahrawi citizens demonstrated to demand the respect for the right to self-determination of their people and its future on its land and its resources. (SPS)
