Dili (East Timor), Sept 18, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Timor-Leste Republic, Mr. Ramos-Horta, has reaffirmed the support of his country to the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, in a meeting with Mr. Malaainin Sadig, minister counselor to the SADR presidency and envoy of the Saharawi president, according to the SADR Embassy in Dili.

During the meeting, the Timorese president considered that the Saharawi Republic (SADR) “is reality and Morocco must deal with it realistically”

“Morocco should withdraw without hesitation from Western Sahara,” said Mr. Horta, confirming that this “will contribute not only in the stability and development of the region, but also saving the royal throne in Morocco.”

The president of East Timor noted that Morocco will not be an exception of the changes prevailing in the Arab World, calling it to quickly put an end to its illegal occupation of Western Sahara, in order to apply the necessary reforms that would respond to the demands of the Moroccan people.

He finally expressed his conviction that Morocco “would not reach that goal, unless it turned the page of its illegal occupation of Western Sahara.”

From his part, the Saharawi envoy informed his interlocutor about the latest developments concerning the national cause, such as the negotiations and situation of human rights in the occupied territories and southern Morocco.

The meeting also studied means of the struggle, especially in the horizon of the thirteenth Congress of the Polisario Front to be held next December, in addition to other issues of the common interest.

The meeting was attended besides the SADR president’s envoy the Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic in Timor-Leste, Mr. Salama Badi. (SPS)
