Montevideo (Uruguay), Oct 24, 2011 (SPS) - The Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic to Uruguay, Mr. Chaibani Abbas, and the Mayor of Paysandú’s Uruguayan city, Mr. Bertil Bentos Scanegatti, have signed a twining agreement on the social and cultural cooperation between the Wilaya of Smara and Municipality of Paysandú, according to a statement of SADR Embassy to Uruguay.
The twining includes an exchange in the areas of education, public health, culture, sport, medical care and environment, the same source added.
The Saharawi Republic (SADR) and Republic of Uruguay have been linking by political relations at the ambassadorial level since December 26, 2005. (SPS)
