Algiers, Oct 30, 2011 (SPS) - The representative of the Saharawi Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad, Mr. Omar Boulsan, revealed Sunday that about eighty Saharawi political prisoners are incarcerated in the Moroccan jails, in a flagrant violation of international law and conventions.
Mr. Boulsan told the Algerian Press Agency (APS) on the sidelines of the 2nd international conference on the peoples’ right to resistance: case of the Saharawi people “total of 79 Saharawi political detainees are currently incarcerating in the Moroccan prisons in deplorable conditions.”
The Saharawi official explained that these prisoners are imprisoned in 6 jails inside Morocco and 2 in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, adding that 23 of them, arrested during the Moroccan attack on Gdeim Izik camp, are subjecting to military trails in Sale (near Rabat).
He also said that 25 Saharawi activists have recently arrested in the occupied city of Dakhla.
With regard to the missing, Mr. Boulsan underlined that there is about 560 Saharawis missing since the invasion of the Moroccan military forces. (SPS)
