Submitted on

Tunis, Jan. 13, 2012 (SPS) - Algerian President Abdellaziz Bouteflika will visit Tunisia on the occasion of the celebration of the first anniversary of the Revolution of January 14th, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic in Tunis.

The statement emphasized "the importance of the relations between the two brotherly nations and their common will to entrench and boost them in all sectors of activity".

The Tunisian Presidency of the Republic further expressed in its statement its "astonishment at recent reports and comments carried by some Arab newspapers that had, it said, distorted the content of Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki's speech in Libya, suggesting an attempted interference in Algeria's internal affairs".

The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia underlined that the "historical and strategic relations existing between Algeria and Tunisia" could not be affected by mistaken analyses that lack objectivity and most reliable sources.

It also stressed "Tunisia's full respect of the sovereignty of the government and people of Algeria".
