El Aaiun (occupied territories), Jan 21, 2012 (SPS) - The Moroccan repressive forces violently dispersed Friday peaceful sit-ins in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, calling for the application of self-determination in Western Sahara and for the release of all the Saharawi political prisoners, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
The demonstrations organized in Smara and Dadach Streets as well as in the quarters of Mataala and Inach.
The protesters chanted slogans that call for independence of Western Sahara and for the release of the Saharawi political detainees in Sale jail, who have been arrested on the ground of their participation in the Saharawi protest camp of Gdeim Izik on November 2012. (SPS)
