Shahid Alhafed (Saharawi refugee camps) February 15, 2012 (SPS) - The Preparatory Committee for Western Sahara Marathon (SAHARA Marathon) Wednesday held its second meeting under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Abdel Qader Taleb Omar, with present of Minister of youth and sports ,Mohamed Maulud Mohamed Fadel, Minister of Interior ,Hamada Salma in addition to the Governors of the wiilayas.
The meeting focused on the organization of 12th copy of the International Marathon in Western Sahara {Sahara Marathon), which scheduled to be held on February 27, on the sidelines of the celebrations of the 36th anniversary of the declaration of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Mohamed Mauloud Mohamed Fade, told SPS, that a large number of participants from various countries around the world have been registered, including Algeria 50 participants, Spain 106, Italy 55, Germany 5, Argentina 3, Britain 15, United States of America 5, Slovenia 2, Austria 1, Romania 4, France 1, Switzerland 7, Netherlands 5, Bologna 1, Belgium 1, Greece 1, South Africa 2.
On the other hand the minister stressed that preparations are in full swing, and all the conditions are right for the start of the international marathon in Western Sahara on various levels. With regard to administrative and security arrangements. (SPS)
