Dear Mr. Payne:
On behalf of myself and all the Sahrawi people, it is with great sadness that I write to offer you and your family our condolences upon the passing of your father, Congressman Donald Payne.

The people of Africa have lost a dear friend and a great advocate, and no one will miss him more than the Sahrawi whose fundamental human rights and freedoms he fought so strongly to protect.
Congressman Payne was a steadfast beacon of light and hope for us, and we will never forget his unwavering commitment to our right to self- determination and independence.

Our thoughts are with you and your family on this solemn occasion, and we will always be grateful for your father’s vision, leadership, and friendship.
With kind regards,
Mohamed Abdelaziz
