Peaceful Demonstration in several Saharawi occupied territories

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 19, 2012 (SPS) - A number of Saharawi citizens staged Sunday in streets of the occupied city of El Aaiun to demand right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

The demonstrators chanted a political slogans calling for the independence of Western Sahara, and expressing solidarity with the Saharawi political detainees in the prisons of Morocco.

They urged the international community to pressurize Morocco for halting the looting of Western Sahara natural resources, hailing European Parliament’s position on blocking the fishing agreement with Morocco and calling it to take similar decision excluding the import of phosphate and agriculture from the occupied Western Sahara.

On relevant context and despite the tight security blockade imposed by the Moroccan occupation authorities, the Saharawi women in the occupied Boujdour continue to organize different actions of struggle including writing national slogans on the walls and rising flags. (SPS)
