The Saharawi woman suffered a coma before her death as a result of medical negligence in the so-called Hassan bin Al-Mahdi’s hospital in the occupied city of El Aaiun, which led her family to protest and demand to provide, in vain, treatment to her.

According to the same source, Lala Bakay was traveling on a taxi, where a car of the Moroccan police hit the taxi that carries her. She totally lost consciousness after she was injured at the level of head and chest.

The accident is the second of its kind after a car of the Moroccan police hit previously the young Saharawi Babi Gargar, resulting in his death.

Executive Office of CODESA expressed solidarity with family of the Saharawi woman Lala Bakay, asking Moroccan state to open an investigation on the circumstances behind the accident and bring those directly responsible to prison. (SPS)
