El Aaiun (occupied territories), Sept 19, 2012 (SPS) - United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, Mr. Juan Méndez has listened to testimony about the torture methods committed by Moroccan authorities of occupation against the Saharawi political prisoners in its jails.
The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture inspected the cruel conditions of the Saharawi political prisoners. He also stopped on the case of Saharawi political prisoners victims of rape.
During the visit, the Saharawi political prisoners reaffirmed the legitimate rights of the Saharawi people, renewing call for UN mechanism to monitor and protect human rights in occupied Western Sahara.
