Saharawi people deserve independence (French Official)

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Sept 30, 2012 (SPS) - The French MP and Mayor of Tomblaine Mr. Hervé Feron, who leads a delegation to the Saharawi refugee camps, said Saturday that the Saharawi people “deserve the independence”, in statements to the press at the end of a 24-hour visit.


“The Saharawi people deserve independence and freedom,” stated the Mayor Hervé Feron, expressing extreme admiration for the level of elegant organization of the Saharawi community under difficult conditions of asylum.


The French MP indicated that the main objective of the visit is “to closely see situation of the Sahrawi citizens and recognize the Saharawi people.”


The MP pointed out that French people is unaware about suffering of the Saharawi people, taking responsibility to transmit message of the Saharawi people to all spectrums of the French society as to work for broadcasting the Saharawi cause inside France.


The Mayor of Tomblaine called for the recognition of Saharawi people’s right to self-determination, urging France to change its position in line with international legitimacy and law and to act in favor of enabling the free and democratic choice for the Saharawi people through a self-determination referendum.
