Ould Khelifa reasserts Algeria’s "unshakeable" position, unfailing support to Sahrawi people

Algiers, Dec 17, 2012 (SPS) - Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa reasserted Sunday in Algiers the "unshakeable" position of Algeria and its unfailing support to the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination in accordance with the decisions of the United Nations and the international law.

 

Ould Khelifa, who received a delegation of MPs participating in the third International Conference of Algiers on "The right of peoples to resistance: the Sahrawi people case," said that the right of peoples to self-determination "is a globally recognized right and established by the UN Charter."
 
 

The Lower House’s speaker highlighted the role of participating MPs in this conference, pointing out that their support to the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination "will enable Sahrawi people to make their voice heard around the world."

 

Ould Khelifa underlined that "the support to oppressed peoples" is among the concerns of he People’s National Assembly, adding that "the just cause of Sahrawi people has unanimous support from the political parties represented in the Parliament." (SPS)
