SADR takes part at 20th Conference of AU Ministers of Industry in Kenya

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic (SADR) has taken part at the 20th Ordinary Session of AU Conference of Ministers of Industry, convened in the Kenyan capital (Nairobi) the period from 10 to 14 June under the theme “Accelerating Industrialization for Africa within the Post-2015 Development Agenda”, according to SADR embassy in Ethiopia.


SADR was represented at the meeting by its Ambassador in Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union Mr. Laman Baali.


Addressing the opening ceremony, the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta encouraged African countries to draw a clear road map for the development of Africa through various industries.


The conference placed particular emphasis on the support for the implementation of the Strategy for the Action Plan for Accelerated Industrial Development of Africa (AIDA), production diversification, decent job creation, energy production for industrial development and technology transfer.


It also discusses how to exploit renewable energy for productive use for African Development (NEPAD) and look for the most effective ways to achieve the industrial growth in Africa through Post-2015 Development Agenda.


On the sidelines of the conference, the Saharawi representative held talks with some delegations present at the event. (SPS)
