FM meets ANC International Relations Secretary

Pretoria, June 29, 2013 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek held talks Friday in Pretoria, South Africa, with the International Relations Secretary of the African National Congress Mr. Hobbit Babila, as part of a visit to the country since last Wednesday, according to a source from SADR embassy in South Africa.


The meeting focused the latest developments on the Saharawi cause, settlement process in Western Sahara, obstructions placed by Moroccan Kingdom to UN efforts that aim to find a just and durable solution, which enables the Sahrawi people to exercise self-determination freely.


The two sides examined the ways to strengthen bilateral relations and lobbying in the international foras.


Prior to that, the Minister held talks with his South African counterpart, where both sides signed three agreements, namely the Memorandum of Understanding on Diplomatic Consultations; the Memorandum of Understanding on a Financial Contribution toward the Construction of a Youth Sport Development Complex and the Memorandum of Understanding on a Financial Contribution towards the Humanitarian Landmine Assistance Programme.
