Boumerdes (Algeria), Aug 18, 2013 (SPS) - “The Saharawi people can regain rapidly their independence by exercising a constant pressure on the Moroccan occupier,” said in Boumerdes Professor Lahcène Zeghidi, Teacher at the University of Algiers II.
“Western Sahara can quickly regain independence if it continues to maintain pressure on the Moroccan occupation on all fronts,” underlined Mr. Zeghidi in a lecture presented Saturday at the Fourth Summer University of Cadres of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), which opened last Wednesday in Boumerdes, Algeria.
For the academic, the Saharawis must, like in a war of national liberation, intensify their struggle actions by organizing peaceful demonstrations in their occupied territories, recalling in this regard, to the events organized by the Algerians on December 11, 1960 to claim their independence.
The event has opened Wednesday at the University of M'hamed Bouguerra of Boumerdes, Algeria, under the slogan “the independent Sahrawi state is the solution” in the presence of about 400 cadres of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) from the refugee camps and occupied territories.
It is therefore attended by representatives of Algerian civil society organizations and international human rights activists. (SPS)
