EUCOCO concludes its work and decides to hold next conference in Madrid

Rome, Nov 16, 2013 (SPS) - The 38th European Conference for Coordination and Support of Saharawi people (EUCOCO), held on 15-16 November in Rome, conluded few hours ago its work, by deciding to hold the 39th conference in Madrid next November.


The announcement was made at the closing ceremony of the 38th EUCOCO held Friday and Saturday in the Italian capital, in the presence of nearly 300 participants from twenty countries.


The closing ceremony, which attended by the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz and many foreign delegations, marked by reading the final communique of the conference, and several other interventions.


Five workshops were held during the EUCOCO 2013 to discuss ways to improve the political, economic, social and cultural conditions of the Saharawi people.

According to the organizers, the EUCOCO 2013 has taken place in an international context marked by an almost universal denunciation of the Moroccan human rights violations in the occupied territories of Western Sahara that sparked reactions worldwide.


Before an annual conference, the EUCOCO is an international network of individuals and organizations committed to advancing a fair and just resolution to the conflict in Western Sahara, the orgaizers added. (SPS)
