Addis Ababa, Jan 29, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz arrived this morning in Addis Ababa, capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, ahead of the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, to be held in Addis Ababa on 30-31 January, 2014.
The President Mohamed Abdelaziz was accompanied in the airplane by Ms. Khira Bulahi, minister of public function and vocational training, and Mr. Abdati Breika, advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.
President of the Republic was received at the airport by a number of African Union officials and the Ethiopian authorities.
The reception ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Hamdi Abeiha, minister delegate for Africa, Mr. Lamine Baali, permanent representative to the AU and ambassador in Ethiopia, Mr. Brahim Lili, member of the leadership of the African Standby Force (ASF), and Mr. Omar Al-Bardi, first-secretary at SADR embassy in Addis Ababa.
The 22nd African Union Summit will focus on the theme of agriculture and food security in Africa.
On 16 July 2012, the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government proclaimed 2014 the “Year of agriculture and food security.” (SPS)
