Submitted on

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2014 (SPS)  - Saharawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz called on African leaders in Addis Ababa to find a solution to the question of Western Sahara as soon as possible, "in line with international law and through a referendum on self-determination, which Africa has been the first to adopt."

In an address before the African leaders, being met since Thursday as part of the 22nd African Union ordinary summit to discuss the report of the AU Council of Peace and Security, Saharawi president said "Africa cannot sit idly by, while Saharawi people is undergoing human rights violations and plundering of their human resources.

For the Saharawi president, Africa should take action against human rights abuses in Western Sahara, the plundering of their natural resources, the division of their territory through the Wall of Shame and millions of anti-personnel mines. (SPS)
