Algiers, February 3, 2013 (SPS) - The Egyptian Foreign Ministry exposed interpretations of the Moroccan "Socialist Union" newspaper, which attributed "false" statements to Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Fahmy, related to the issue of the Western Sahara.
The newspaper claimed that Mr. Fahmy said in an interview it published January 22, "We support Morocco on the Sahara issue and we hope the UN efforts will result in a rational and realistic" (…).
According to the Sunday issue of Algerian "Shorouk" newspaper, in a written refutation, revealed that the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Mr. Nabil Fahmy, said during the interview: "The issue of Western Sahara is of great importance and we hope the UN efforts will result in a rational and realistic."
This confirms, the newspaper says, Mr. Fahmy did not say that " Egypt supports Morocco on the Western Sahara issue." (SPS)
