Almada (Portugal), Feb 13, 2014 (SPS) - Mayor of the Portuguese Municipality of Almada Mr. Joaquín Judas has voiced his support to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, pledging to aware about the Saharawi cause in Almada.
In a meeting with the Polisario Front’s Representative in Portugal Mr. Ahmed Fal Mohamed on Wednesday, Mr. Judas expressed support to the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people to regain sovereignty.
He, therefore, showed readiness to sensitize about the Saharawi cause at the level of Almada Municipality, one of the biggest Portuguese cities.
This meeting was an opportunity for the Saharawi diplomat to inform his interlocutor about the latest developments in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, especially the serious violations of human rights by Morocco.
Mr. Ahmed Fal also delivered to the Portuguese official a file containing pictures and audio-visual recordings portraying the repression Moroccan occupying forces are perpetrating against Saharawi citizens. (SPS)
