Paris, Feb 14, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi cause, along with that of Palestine, will be discussed at the international anti-colonialism and anti-racism week, to be held from 14th to 22nd February 2014 in Paris.
According to the organizers, the event brings together many participants representing international liberation movements, organizations and bodies.
Study group within the French Parliament expected to devote a hearing, to be attended by Polisario Front’s Representative in France Mr. Mansour Omar, about the latest developments in Western Sahara, including the state of human rights, condition of the political prisoners, struggle of Saharawi women and humanitarian situation in the Saharawi refugee camps.
The event is also to be attended by the Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem, President of the Collective of Saharawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) Ms. Aminatou Haidar, and the President of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights Ms. Kerry Kennedy.
This gathering is an opportunity to brief the French media about suffering of Saharawi people, on both outskirts of Moroccan occupation’s separation wall.
The week-long activities will be concluded by organizing an act of solidarity with the Saharawi and Palestinian people, as a form of protest to the occupation in Western Sahara and racism in Palestine.
Participants at this event will have the opportunity to see the documentary on Western Sahara “Sons of the Clouds: the Last Colony in Africa”, by Javier Bardem.
This anti-colonialism and anti-racism week is an annual gathering organized in Paris by international activists, intellectuals and sympathizers, with the aim to raise awareness about the plight of oppressed people across the world. (SPS)
