Shaheed Hafed (Refugee Camps), March 17, 2014 (SPS) - African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs Dr. Aisha Abdullahi confirmed that her visit, along with Commissioner for Social Affairs Dr. Mustapha Kalokoh, commissioned by Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, is to view the reality of the Saharawi people in the framework of Solidarity and support between the African Union and the Saharawi people.
She said in a statement to SPS following her meeting with Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar “we come to the Sahrawi people to reassure them that we are with them and we will continue to be with them in their cause for self-determination and in doing this we have met with all important stakeholders in the country”.
“My message to the Sahrawi people is that as much as the struggle continuous together holistically as African people we are with them and we have a lot to learn from their resilience and we are impressed by their resilience, strength, sense of unity, sense of determination and sense of discipline and with all this qualities we are confident that it is just a matter of time for this people to achieve victory,” she added.
