London, March 21, 2014 (SPS) – A Polisario Front delegation, led by the Sahrawi Coordinator with MINURSO, Mr. M'hamed Khadad, accompanied by the Polisario Front Representative in London, Mohamedlimam Mohamedali, met Thursday Mr. David Quarrey, Director for the Middle East and North Africa in the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, at its headquarters in London.
The British official reiterated the position of his country’s government concerning the Sahrawi issue, confirming its support to the efforts of the United Nations through the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, Mr. Christopher Ross, in order to reach a lasting and mutually acceptable peaceful solution, providing for the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people.
The two parties discussed the latest developments related to the Western Sahara issue and the UN peace process in the Western Sahara in the light of the recent visit by the UN Secretary-General Personal Envoy, Mr. Christopher Ross, to the region. (SPS)
